ENGLISHDuring October, the students explored an extract – ‘The Strange Man’s Arrival ‘from the literary piece ‘Three Men in a Boat.’ It was introduced through a video to make it easy to connect. In grammar, the students brushed up the topic of Subject Verb Agreement done in previous grades also. Post the discussion of the rules, the students practised in the Grammar book. In writing, the students attempted expressing their views through Article Writing. They were exposed to yet another form of informational text through Notice Writing. FRENCHIn the month of October, the concept of time was introduced with Days of the week. Recap of Negative sentences was done in class followed by usage of Negative phrases. HINDIअक्टूबर माह में विषय - हिंदी कक्षा- सात में साहित्य - पाठ नमक का दारोगा के माध्यम से छात्रों को कर्तव्यपालन , सत्यनिष्ठा और आशावादिता के साथ सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व का निर्वाह करने की सीख से परिचित कराया गया। काव्यपाठ- सूरदास के पद के माध्यम से छात्रों ने भक्तिभावना-वात्सल्य और प्रेमभावना के महत्व को छात्रों ने जाना और मूकाभिनय विधा के बारे में जाना । व्याकरण से उपसर्ग- प्रत्यय , विशेषण- क्रियाविशेषण मुहावरों का प्रयोग चित्रावली के माध्यम से पोटली खोज गतिविधि करते हुए पाठ्यक्रम पूर्ण करा दिया गया है। चित्रावली युक्त अभ्यासपत्र के द्वारा मुहावरों का अभ्यास कराया गया। रचनात्मकलेखन - संवादलेखन विचारभिव्यक्ति सभा काल का आयोजन करते हुए अभ्यास कराया गया। SANSKRITअक्टूबर माह में कक्षा - सप्तमी विषय- संस्कृत पाठ- ‘अकबर बीरबलयो: कथा’ को छात्रों ने अपने पूर्वज्ञान के आधार पर व्यक्त किया। धातुरूपों में लड्०-लोट् लकार के लक्षण और पहचान को उदाहरण व प्रत्युदाहरण के रूपों का अनुवाद रूप में अनुप्रयोग कर छात्रों ने उत्साहपूर्वक प्रयोग सीखा । शब्दरूप - अकारांत , आकारांत किम् शब्द रूप तीनो लिंगो में सर्वनाम शब्दरूपों का तालिका निर्माण करते हुए अभ्यास कार्य करते हुए अनुप्रयोग किया गया। GERMANOctober is a month full of festivities galore which made learning that much fun. Students tuned into the first chapter “Kannst du Inlinskaten?” where they learnt new vocabulary, words related to sports, hobbies, sports equipment etc. They were also introduced to modal verbs – sollen, wollen, können and müssen was also done. This helped the children to frame basic sentences and questions in the language. They also attempted and completed work book exercises which helped the students to understand the usage of lessons taught. They also enjoyed the collage making activity on the different ‘Sports’ played in Germany. MATHEMATICSWith the help of paper-cutting/folding activity, students differentiated between altitude and median of a triangle. They concluded about the angle sum property and exterior angle property with the help of measurement of angles. By using different triangular cut-outs and measuring their lengths, they differentiated among Scalene, Isosceles and Equilateral triangles. With the help of property of length of sides of a triangle, students were able to identify whether a triangle is possible or not with a given set of measurements. SCIENCEPHYSICS: ELECTRICITY Circuits make computers, digital cameras, and video games possible. They are driving an unparalleled rate of change in how we live. In Physics lessons, the students learnt about the physics behind the electronic devices used in our daily life. They listed various components used in an electric circuit and drew the diagram using symbols for components used in circuit. By connecting cells in different arrangements, they learnt about the series and parallel combination of cells. They drew open and closed circuits using open and close switches. Also, through discussion and watching relevant videos, they understood the application of the heating effect of electric current. CHEMISTRY : Acids, Bases and Salts Based on the discussion held in the class about Acids and Alkalies, Kitchen Survey was held by Acid-Alkali Detectives of Grade VII as a home task. The students discussed amongst themselves about various acids and alkalies present in the kitchen viz vinegar, lemon juice, tartaric acid and baking soda. They differentiated acids from bases by litmus paper test present in the lab. They made their indicator using china rose (Hibiscus petals) and used the same for the acid-base test. Biology : The Respiratory System Have you ever tried to laugh while holding your breath? It's impossible to do because, to laugh, you need to breathe. Breathing is when you pull air into your body and then let it out. The part of your body that handles breathing is called the respiratory system. The students of grade VII understood the concept of breathing and respiration. They studied about aerobic and anaerobic respiration. Also, they discussed different breathing organs in various living beings like lungs, gills, skin, spiracles etc. They illustrated the human respiratory system through well-labelled diagrams. They concluded that respiratory system allows doing things like laugh, talk and sing and is also necessary for us to live. SOCIAL SCIENCEHistory: Towns, Traders and Craftspeople Students discussed the establishment of different types of towns like temple towns, port towns, capital towns, administrative towns and towns founded by rulers. A case study of 2 towns i.e. Hampi and Masulipatnam was discussed by students. They also gained knowledge about Crafts, technology and internal and external trade. Civics: Media and Democracy Students were assessed on their prior knowledge about what they already know about “Democracy” and what role media plays in democracy. They gained knowledge about the checks and balances of media. Students discussed the case study of the Right to Information Act. ICTDuring the process of learning HTML, the students learnt about how to combine basic HTML elements to create Web pages. They were able to create lists of all types which include complete reference to OL, UL and associated attributes. They also learned to insert ordered and unordered lists within a web page and how to create a table within a web page. INDIAN MUSICIn the month of October, the students learnt Name of the song: Bandish in Raag Bhairavi “ Bhawani dyani”. ‘Hamko Man ki Shakti’, ‘Raam Astuti’’ Instruments played: Combination of Harmonium, Tabla, Tanpura , Markas, Swartarang. Exercises done: Vocal warm-up with sargam WESTERN MUSICIn the month of October, the students learnt Lesson taught: Vocal warm up exercise in C minor scale Exercises done: Drums / Staff notation 4/4 Children Learnt how to read drums notation using the 5 lines and 4 spaces Instruments taught: Guitar/ keyboard Exercises done: Dynamic (Soft, loud, whispering and yelling) DANCEStudents learnt basics of Kathak dance form. They learnt how to emote different gestures, posture through body language and facial expressions. Apart from that they have learnt the choreography for on deepawali song “deepawali aayi re” and performed during the Diwali Special assembly. Students learnt basics of Kathak dance form.
