Mathematics Students understood the concept of Multiplication and Division of decimals and applied their understanding in different questions posed to them. They converted the answer into units using his method. Special division of decimals where a number is divided by 10, 100, 1000 and 10000 was discussed. Recapitulation of Integers, Fractions and Decimals was done in class by practicing extra questions. Chemistry Students discussed 'Rusting of Iron' in class, after which they were able to classify necessary conditions required for rusting. They also understood the process of crystallization and were able to explain clearly the steps involved in crystal formation. Physics Students discussed different techniques of transfer of heat in an overview. Transfer of heat by Conduction was discussed in detail. Students understood the differences between conductor and insulators. Biology The processes for digestion in animals were discussed and explained . Students understood the terms : ingestion, digestion, accumulation, egestion with the help of parts like buccal cavity, tooth enamel, stomach, small and large intestine, anus and rectum. Also digestion in amoeba and digestion in ruminants was discussed in detail Geography Students were divided into groups and were allocated based on the 'Realms of the Earth'. They also researched into the probable Causes of Climate change and the effect of the rising temperatures on life . History - Sources of History The students studied about the various foreign travellers who visited India during the Ancient period and their account of the lives of the people and the power of the kings. With the help of videos of the calligraphy on the walls of Qutub Minar they were able to understand the finesse and knowledge of the art of writing of the craftsmen during the period. Civics - Election Time Students by way of Group discussion spoke about the election process and understood the process of elections and the terms associated with the same. They also briefly understood the role of the Legislature, Executive and Judiciary in running of the government French After the initial recap, students are now getting comfortable using basic salutations in and outside the classroom. They were able to greet formally and informally in French. Students were taught to indicate various places using different prepositions. Vocabulary of different places was also done in the French copy. Students were be able to write a small paragraph of 40-50 words using the prepositions learnt. Ordinal numbers from 1-20 was done in class. Comprehension of a small passage was done along with question and answers and true or false in a worksheet as a practice for UT. German After getting through with the first chapter (Was sits du in der Pause?), student had a great time in making menu card in German. We have started with the new chapter (Maine Sculsachen), in which they have learnt about school, school things, different subjects. They would be making dream time table as a part of the activity. The workbook exercises are discussed thoroughly in the class, reinforcement of which will be done by the student at home in the holidays! संस्कृत १. लट्-लृट्-लड्०लकार में का परिवर्तनीय और अपरिवर्तनीय धातुरूपों के प्रयोग को समझते हुए धातुरूप कार्य का पुनराभ्यास किया। २. तत् , एतत् और किम् सर्वनामशब्दरूपों का तीनों लिंगों में तथा मध्यम और उत्तमपुरुष का वचनानुसार बोध प्राप्त करते हुए धातुरूपों के साथ समन्वयीकरण करना सीखा। अव्ययशब्दों को लिखा और कंठस्थ कर सुनाया। Art & Pottery Students made paintings on mother - child relationship and displayed them during Mothers’ day assembly. Students first drew a composition of 'mother and child' and then went on to use colours to beautify their work with oil pastels. Drama Students learnt about different elements of Dramatics. They understood how understand a character, how to be confident while performing, expression and voice modulation . Western Music Students learnt about the 'Dynamics' which is very important in music while singing or playing musical instruments - soft, loud, whispering or yelling Eg- p: piano=soft, f: forte= loud, and also practiced singing the song 'Sleeping child' sung by the band Michael Learns To Rock. Indian Music Students are practicing, स्वरतरंग in Indian music class. They have started identifying parts of the Harmonium and the Tanpura. They are also learning how to play basic सरगम on हारमोनियम, स्वरतरंग so they can play the Harmonium confidently . They are also learning सरगम and understanding how to sing in a rhythmic pattern. Physical Education Students continued to enhance their skills and techniques learnt in the game of Squash. They were made to understand the basic rules of the game and the markings on the squash courts. The focus was to make sure that everybody is able to grip the racket properly and are able to make contact with the ball. They were also introduced to the court movement used in a game of squash. They were taught about forehand drives and service. They were made to play with the teacher and make rallies. Students were also given the opportunity to play against each other and compete with their peers. LIFE SKILLS
Student’s analysed what comprises of total health - is it emotional, mental or physical health. Student in a group activity enlisted the task and actions that affect these health issues.
