ENGLISHIn the month of November, the students got familiar with another poem from the Literature Reader – ‘The Battle of Blenheim’. They discussed the critical analysis of a war poem and shared their views on the same through a ‘Just a Minute’ activity. Besides working on the comprehension aspect, students learnt ‘Irony’ as a figurative language in context to the poem. After the recap of the Adverbs and its types, students learnt about Adverb Clauses. They brushed up their knowledge of clauses too. HINDIपाठ - 'तीन प्रश्न' नामक पाठ के संवर्धनार्थ वाद-विवाद गतिविधि और स्वविचारभिव्यक्ति प्रस्तुतीकरण का आयोजन किया गया । जिसमें छात्रों ने अपने जीवन के महत्वपूर्ण प्रेरणास्रोत रहे व्यक्ति जैसे माता- पिता , भाई-बहन , शिक्षक-शिक्षक , दादा-दादी और मित्र आदि की प्रभावित करने वाली कार्य और व्यवहारशैली के विषय में बताया कि कैसे तथाकथित व्यक्ति विशेष की सीख से वे प्रभावित रहे । एक सफल व्यक्तित्व को प्राप्त करने के लिए छात्रों को किन - किन गुणों की आवश्यकता होती हैं। उन्हें छात्रों ने सूचीबद्ध करते हुए अपनी दिनचर्या में यथासंभव शामिल करने का लिखित संकल्प लिया अत्याधिक उत्साहवर्धक रहा । रचनात्मकलेखन - चित्रावली के माध्यम से पोटली खोज गतिविधि करते हुए मुहावरों और अविकारी शब्दों को भेदानुसार जानते और समझते हुए छात्रों ने भाषा के व्याकरणिक तथ्यों को समझकर एकांकीलेखन , नाटकलेखन का मुख्याधार रचनात्मक संवाद विधा को सीखा । FRENCHIn the month of November, students were introduced to Article partitives and Imperatives. Their understanding was strengthened by attempting related exercises. Along with exercises. Vocabulary related to fruits and vegetables were also done and they practiced pronouncing the words correctly with the right diction. GERMANStudents of Grade 7 started with Module-4 Lektion-2, ‘Wem gehört das Fahrrad?’ They got an opportunity to learn a new grammar topic – Dative during this chapter, where new verb ‘suchen’ was introduced. The students were involved in speaking activity to show the ownership of the articles. They also understood different ways to talk about one’s belongings. The reflection of the new topic was carried out by students attempting the textbook and workbook exercises. SANSKRITधातुरूपों में लड्०-लोट् लकार के लक्षण और पहचान को उदाहरण व प्रत्युदाहरण के रूपों का अनुवाद रूप में अनुप्रयोग कर छात्रों ने उत्साहपूर्वक प्रयोग सीखा । शब्दरूप - अकारांत , आकारांत किम् शब्द रूप तीनो लिंगो में सर्वनाम शब्दरूपों का तालिका निर्माण करते हुए अनुवाद कार्य सीखा । पाठ - ''परिश्रमेण सर्वम् सिद्धयति'' को छात्रों ने परियोजनात्मक शिक्षण (Project base learning) के माध्यम से पढ़ते हुए तीरंदाज दीपाकुमारी के बारे में यथासंभव जानकारी प्राप्त कर प्रपत्र तैयार किए। जिसमें उनका संक्षिप्त परिचय, कार्यशैली, शिक्षा और प्राप्त पुरस्कारों का विवरण प्रस्तुतीकरण किया गया। MATHEMATICSStudents understood the difference between a fraction and rational numbers using a number line. They also plotted rational numbers on the number line and performed various arithmetic operations on rational numbers. By using geometrical tools, students constructed triangles by using different given parameters. Also, they made triangles using straws in their art class as an art integration with Mathematics. SCIENCEPHYSICS MAGNETIC EFFECT OF CURRENT With the help of videos and explanation, students understood the magnetic effect of current and working of a solenoid. By using an iron nail and wires, they made an electromagnet and then listed the difference between an electromagnet and a permanent magnet based on their observations. CHEMISTRY Acids, Bases and Salts A litmus paper test was conducted in the Science Lab. for differentiating acids from bases. Various kitchen items were used for the same like vinegar, lemon juice, soap solution etc. They came to know that turmeric can also be used as an indicator and the process for making turmeric indicator is too simple to follow. They discussed the usage of acids and bases in various daily use items like toilet cleaners, glass cleaners, batteries etc. This was indeed an enriching and knowledgeable session. BIOLOGY The Organ Systems The human body is indeed a complex system in which there are different organ systems doing their function perfectly well as controlled by the brain. The students enjoyed making clay models of various human organ systems in grous viz. Respiratory System, Excretory System, Circulatory System and Various parts of the brain. This helped them understand the various organs of the systems and label them. SOCIAL SCIENCECivics Advertising Students were assessed on their prior knowledge about “Advertising” and what are its objectives. They gained knowledge about different types of advertising and the role of media in advertising. Students discussed consumerism. To learn different aspects of the advertisement, they were divided into different groups and each group got a product to prepare an advertisement to present in the class. It was an amazing and fun-filled experience for students to create such advertisements. Role of Gender Gender: A social construct was introduced to them wherein they were able to differentiate between Gender and Sex. They also gained knowledge about stereotypes related to the position of woman in the community and education field. They discussed the safety of women in public areas. They also enhanced their knowledge about Economic aspects of Gender as women in the informal sector, formal sector and division of labour within the family. The guest speaker ‘Ms Shruti’ also threw light on gender equality and the role of woman in family and community. She conducted an activity related to the theme. Geography As said, “Prevention is better than cure”. Hence, students were taught about Stress and its types and how does it affect any person. Studentss also identified common stressor that cause stress. Students learnt how to reduce stress. ICTThe students learned to add CSS text properties to HTML code such as text –align, text- decoration, color etc. They also used Font and Border properties such as Font size, font style, font, Border-width, Border-style and Border-color. They created a web page – Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ using these properties in their home page. WESTERN MUSICIn the month of November, the students learnt: Lesson taught: Vocal warm up exercise in C minor scale : “Feliz Navidad” Christmas carol (Spanish version) Exercises done: Drums / Staff notation 4/4 Children Learnt how to read drums notation using the 5 lines and 4 spaces Instruments taught: Guitar/ keyboard Exercises done: Dynamic (Soft, loud, whispering and yelling) INDIAN MUSICIn the month of November, the students enhanced their singing and instrumental skills through the following songs and instruments. Name of the song: ‘Hamko Man ki Shakti’, 'Alankar', 'Bandish of Raag Yaman' Instruments played: Combination of Harmonium, Tabla, Tanpura, Markas and Swartarang Exercises: Vocal warm-up with Sargam PHYSICAL EDUCATIONTABLE TENNIS
DRAMAStudents understood how to work as a team in the theatre. They understood the various parts of comedy plays and one-acts. Also, they understood how to portray comic characters in one-act plays focusing on acting techniques, body language, observational skills, voice modulation, diction and speech. DANCEThe students learnt the basics of Indian classical (Kathak), semi-classical and western dance form. They learnt how to emote different gestures, posture through body language and facial expressions. They also learnt Guru Vandana, Tatkaar (basic footwork), Hastak (basic hand-movements) of kathak. For more understanding of rhythm, they learnt ‘teen taal’ (16beats) as all Kathak basics are on ‘teen taal’. Apart from that, they learnt the choreography on Christmas song ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’. (Funky version) ART AND POTTERYChildren drew marine life compositions and coloured them with acrylic colours and oil pastels. In clay modelling class they made pots on potter’s wheel and coloured them with aquatic elements like fish, boats on them. ROBOTICSUNIT TOPIC: BASIC OF ELECTRONICS Activity: Motor In this session, students explored different types of motors and working of DC motor by creating a circuit to show motor in action. They made DIY motor using copper wire and magnet to study the working of a DC motor and understand the internal parts of a toy motor. lIFE SKILLSAs said, “Prevention is better than cure”. Hence, students were taught about Stress and its types and how does it affect any person. Students also identified common stressor that cause stress. Students learnt how to reduce stress.
